About Lexicon and Cordell & Cordell:

Cordell & Cordell is the nation’s largest family law firm, supported by Lexicon, a professional legal services organization providing comprehensive operational and client support.  Together, we are committed to a client-centered approach, delivering a high-quality experience at every stage of the client journey. We invest in people who are passionate about helping others, building trust, and contributing to the growth and success of the firm through meaningful client engagement.

Job Summary:

The Marketing Communications Specialist moves fluidly between two connected disciplines: building the firm's external brand presence in support of business growth and strengthening the organization’s internal communications. This is a hybrid role for someone who enjoys both the fast pace of social and PR work and the structure-building of internal communications and employee engagement. You'll be the connective tissue between what the world sees and the employees experience, ensuring both tell a consistent, compelling story.

Responsibilities:

External Communications

  • Consistently plan and publish content across our social channels to grow brand visibility and support demand generation. Monitor brand sentiment and mentions using social listening tools, flagging reputational risks early and surfacing engagement opportunities
  • Actively participate in relevant online communities, forums, and conversations where the brand has a credible voice, building goodwill and visibility
  • Continuously refine external messaging using performance data and audience insights, A/B testing language, format, and channel mix to improve resonance and conversion
  • Draft, coordinate and publish press releases and related media materials in partnership with leadership and external partners, ensuring announcements drive external awareness and are distributed on schedule
  • Report on social, PR, and messaging performance on a regular cadence, translating results into business-impact narratives for leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Partner with external employee brand reputation 3rd parties, such as Indeed/Glassdoor to maintain and improve company profiles and visibility in sync with recruiting team

 Internal Communications

  • Own the intake, planning, and execution of internal communications, working with department leaders to ensure employees receive timely, clear, and consistent messaging on company news, initiatives, and changes
  • Serve as the primary owner of the company's Confluence-based intranet (currently in development), maintaining it as the central hub for internal communications, company meeting decks, and related resources. Manage space and page structure, permissions, and templates, and help shape its ongoing build-out and content strategy
  • Develop new approaches, channels, and messaging to increase employee engagement with internal content, from intranet features to recognition programs and feedback loops.
  • Build and maintain internal communications workflows, templates, and style standards to ensure requests are consistent, are approved efficiently, and messaging follows brand guidelines

Minimum Requirements:

  • Required Education:
    • Bachelor of Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or closely related field preferred
  • Minimum Years of Experience:
    • 3-5 years of experience in marketing communications, corporate communications, or a related field, with demonstrated work spanning both external and internal communications
  • Other Requirements (Knowledge, Skill, Ability, and Licensure(s)):
    • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt tone across press releases, social posts, and internal announcements
    • Experience with social media management and listening tools, and comfort interpreting performance data to refine messaging
    • Experience supporting or leading internal communications programs, including planning, drafting, and stakeholder coordination
    • Strong project management skills and comfort owning intake processes, templates, and standards
    • Ability to manage competing priorities across external and internal audiences, and to translate company updates into narratives relevant to each
    • Self-starter/proactive approach, identifying and presenting new opportunities
    • Hybrid work location: both in-office in the Town & Country, MO office and work-from-home is expected
  • Preferred:
    • Working knowledge of managing a Confluence-based company intranet (information architecture, page/space organization, permissions, and content maintenance), or strong familiarity with comparable platforms and a fast ability to ramp up on Confluence specifically
